We have been working on ‘Go for It World Wise’, one of the challenges was to see if the Guides are able to ‘grow money!
Each Patrol took out a loan of £2.00 from which they had to choose how they could raise money and which charity would receive their profits after their initial loan was repaid.
The Lion Patrol – decided to hold a raffle at a Guide meeting they raised £2.85 which they sent to Wood Green Animal Shelter.
The Penguin Patrol ran a Treasure Island Game at a Guide meeting and raised £10.80 which will be sent to the RSPCA.
The Puffin Patrol sold some unwanted things and collected donations from friends and family to raise £19.30 which has been sent to Wood Green Animal Shelter.
The Parrot Patrol attended a Christmas Carol Service where the sold handmade cards and Reindeer Food they raised £23.12 which has gone to the CLIC Sergeant Appeal.
The Panda Patrol had a table top sale and sold unwanted items, they raised £30.00 which has been sent to the British Kidney Patients Association.
The Dolphin Patrol sold cakes at a parents shop in Cambridge and raised £60.00 which will be sent to Wood Green Animal Shelter.
In total 3rd Histon Guides managed to raise £125.07 Profit to send to their chosen charity so we have to conclude
YES, THEY CAN GROW MONEY!
